How does it work?
Laser Therapy is a process of utilizing light sourced energy to stimulate cells within the body; to relieve pain and/or stimulate tissue to assist in injury recovery. Multi Radiance uses multiple wavelengths so energy can be absorbed below the skin’s surface and into muscle and deeper tissue.
Laser treatment (also known as phototherapy and low level laser therapy) involves the application of low power coherent light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It is used to increase the speed, quality and strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation and give pain relief. Low level laser technology has been found to offer superior healing and pain relieving effects compared to other electrotherapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, especially in dealing with chronic problems and in the early stages of acute injuries. Low level laser technology is a complete system of treating muscle, tendon, ligament, connective tissue, bone, nerve, and dermal tissues in a non-invasive, drug-free modality.
is it safe?
Yes. Multi Radiance lasers are in the safest FDA laser class, are drug-free, and non-invasive. They are painless and will not overheat skin or burn you - most patients do not feel anything, while some may experience a slight tingling or warming sensation over the area receiving laser. A wealth of medical experience, state-of-the-art engineering and optimal quality has been built into the devices and extensive clinical research and tests have confirmed their safety and efficacy. Multi Radiance Medical devices have an FDA Clearance and CE certification, a mark of European safety and legal compliance.
How is it administered?
Typically, the laser emitter is placed directly on the skin over the area of concern. Depending on the size and location of the injury, Dr. Duncan may keep the laser held in one spot, or may move the emitter around to cover a wider area. Each session lasts approximately 5 minutes.
